you told me about that night
did you think it would impress me
make me a little jealous to want you some more
if you could see what I thought
because you don’t know
but I know you can’t do anything about it
a little bit sad, but oh that guilt
it just makes you freeze and burn
you try and you suggest, but it just doesn’t work
you look so sad to be happy
can’t cross the line, but you’re already too far gone
how can you even see that line, you shuffle around it so much
I would have thought it’s disappeared altogether
yet somehow you keep it together, keep those legs crossed
and hope that it works, dancing around the edge
