so she thought she found it, then that block drops
like five hundred feet in the air and straight to her stomach
drums fill her head and alls not right
sipping that lemsip to make her feel numb
next time when those hopes soar high
she just might burst that bubble before you get the chance
cause now look what you’ve done
you might say you didn’t mean it and maybe that’s true
but good intentions won’t make a difference
and that spark you set off could have been a fire
but now it’s nothing but cold and gray
left-over feelings are always hard to swallow
should tears be shed and hearts be broken?
well now we’ll never know, you never let it get that far
maybe she should thank you for that
but look what you’ve done
now you have what you want and what did it cost
was it your heart you gave to make you feel so good
but tell me what can she do, what can make it better
what regret can she have, what looking back can change it
so all she can do is take the hit and run
